RE: STOP ASKING LAB QUESTIONS

Let me first say that most of this sentiment I agree with. I do not
have my number yet but I do not think this should be a forum for giving
out actual lab questions and answers. The good news is, I never really
know if it's truly a question from the lab or not. But one thing I do
have a problem with is this statement "have EXPERINCE, no lab rats". I
have some experience when it comes to designing and maintaining routers
but not nearly enough to get my CCIE. I would consider myself a "lab
rat" by your standards because I have never been given the opportunity
to work in an environment where I can do this stuff on a daily basis. I
wish I could, but I hope you realize with this economy, a CCDP/CCNP cert
isn't going to get you in the door. It goes back to having to have
experience to get experience, or prove that you can "hang with the big
boys" by getting that CCIE.

So rather then sit around on my thumb and wait for someone to finally
give me an opportunity, I am proactive, I get my routers, on credit, go
in to debt and study my ass off and try to accomplish something. I've
worked VERY hard on this stuff and for someone to say I shouldn't have
the right to pass this test because I only have a year and a half of on
and off experience should walk in my shoes for a day. I work 8 hours a
day, then go home to work on my degree then hopefully get a chance to
work on my rack for a while. My wife probably wonders if I even exist.
And yet at an interview they either see that I'm 23 and pass me off as
too young to really have this type of background or that I'm just some
as you would say, "Lab Rat". Fine, give me the chance to change that
and I will. Otherwise, explain to me why I should just settle for what
I have rather then work for something better?!

In my opinion, these "lab rats" have more drive to accomplish something
then you give us credit for. I'm not going to be just some network
engineer. I'm not going to wait till I'm 30 for someone to give me a
chance. I will do everything in my power to accomplish these goals, on
my time frame.

Like I said, I can understand your frustration with people giving away
test questions, it's unfair for those of us who are working at it. But
please do not allow your frustration get the better of you and start
pooling people who are actually working at this with those same morons.

Subject: STOP ASKING LAB QUESTIONS

I have seen yet another question from a lab. This forum is not designed
to
break the NDA or spoon-fed the wannabe's. I will tell you how to pass
the lab
exam, 1) have EXPERINCE, no lab rats 2) buy 7+ routers from e-bay 3)
once you
get the routers understand how the protocols work, if you have mastered
the
basics then there isnt a question they can give you that you cannot
answer.
And to the people that keep answering lab questions please STOP IT.

Thank You
