Hiya...need help
Network: sw2-------e0/r2------(fr)------r1----(fr)---r3/e0-------sw1
(area 1 ) (area 5 ) (area 0 ) (area 10 )
Sw1 (3550 switch) is advertising loopback of 133.25.7.7 /32 in area 10. R3
gets this route no problems. R1 on the other hand is learning this route from
R2.
R2 has no route for the network in its main ip routing table, but in its
database it shows up as
Type-5 AS External Link States
133.25.7.7 133.25.6.6 8 0x800005B3 0x9E73 0
If I turn router r2 off, then the route from sw1 gets installed no problem
O E1 133.25.7.7 [250/94] via 135.25.235.3, 00:00:14, Serial0.2
With r2 on, route appears as - on r1
O E1 133.25.7.7 [250/889] via 135.25.56.6, 00:17:47, Serial9
I tried altering the AD and got nothing, for some reason my IOS 12.1 or 12.2
do not have the command area X filter-list, so I have not tried that. I am
suffering from some sever mental block and need your help.
Additional info. Area 0 is running MD5 and others are plain text, sw2 is a
nssa getting only a default-route. I personally think that the problem is
something to do with the default-route being shown be r2. Then there's the
route install problem. When I used the distance 250 133.25.6.6 255.255.255.255
44, nothing happened apart from the AD change. For some reason it defaulted to
0.0.0.0 255.255.255.225 so then I put 133.25.6.6 0.0.0.0 instead.
I am totally lost on this problem. I'd appreciate any input into this.
Please do not ask for a config or the routing table output, there not
available.
