probleme in RIP default route

is there any change in RIP protocol implementation in Cisco router.

I have 2 router directely connected ( R6 and R5 ).
I want just to test the sending of the default route in rip precess:

the config is simple:

1st test
rip actif in serials connecting the two router.
ip route 0.0.0....... E0 at R6.

result : no 0.0.0.O in R5

it is normal?

adding defaul-information originate : I can get route 0.0.0.0 in R5

running version 12.1(18)

can some one help.
