As mentioned by others, a /32 mask on the loopback makes sense since it only
represents one device and you should want to conserve network addresses.

In OSPF the loopback is considered a stub by default and is advertised as a
/32 regardless of what subnet mask you apply. If you need to get around
this, define the loopback interface as an OSPF network type pt-pt.

The loopback interface in OSPF is reported as a stub network

Subject: loopback address

Dear all,
Why we usually put loopback addresses as 32-bit? And is it right that
whatever we put the loopback address, it will be advertised as 32-bit even
if we put it as 24bit address, and if you have a good document about this
issue , plz advise.
