I agree. If the idea is for the prefix to not appear to come from
anything except 220 then my solution would be wrong as it would also
contain AS 100. Really depends on how we interpret that hypothetical
task.
BTW; I also stated that you could possibly prepend upon redistribution -
I was wrong. I think that is why I felt uncomfortable w/ part of my
answer. Although, there are no problems w/ prepending only on certain
prefix's like my original config illustrated.
Paul, couple of questions regarding the confederation... You are
correct; your solution will work, but it asked that only that one prefix
show up in AS 220. Depending on the context your solution might be
considered a little heavy-handed.?? Also, if I am not mistaken AS 100
will not show up whether we use the 'remove-private-as' command or
not.... we will only see AS 220. One more thing, 'remove-private-as'
removes private AS's in private address range of 64512 to 65535.
Let me know if I missed something or told a fib.
Thank You,
scott

Hi,
Forgot one thing... in addition to the bgp confederation statement, add:
'neighbor x.x.x.x remove-private-as'
This will strip the private AS (100) information from the path as it
passes
the update along.
