Thanks for your input. I will take 24 hours of input then create Version 2.

David,

Its a very good idea of yours on coming up with such a flowchart. Here are
some of my thoughts.

Under step 4 "QoS for multiple classes of traffic" - YES - it applies to
both RTP and LLQ. RTP applies to Voice and UDP based ports only and LLQ
extends it beyond UDP based ports. So under "yes" maybe another Q would
extend it...

Under Q11 when say "yes" u can go further - do u need this for "flows" yes
use FRED - else WRED.

May be under the YESs'/No's where u specify the mechanism u can add specific
"Note"" if any for that meachanism.Like for WRED u can add - not suitable
for Voice, for RSVP - can be used with WFQ to reseve b/w and "guaranteed
rate service" , RSVP+WRED for low delay, high thruput , PQ - cant be used
for Voice etc.

Let me go thorugh further to see if i can add more.

Cheers,
Annu.

My first crack at it.

1 Does the question require you to consider bandwidth anywhere in your
calculations?
YES Go to Step 2 NO Go to Step 10

2 Does the question allow you to drop traffic?

YES Go to Step 3 NO Go to Step 5

3 Does the question require that you provide priority for certain
traffic?
YES Go to Step 4 NO CAR/POLICE

4 Does the question require that you configure QoS for multiple
classes of traffic?
YES LLQ NO IP RTP
5 Does the question require that you shape traffic?

YES Go to Step 6 NO Go to Step 7

6 Does the question ask you to configure this solution on a Frame
Relay interface?
YES FRTS NO GTS
7 Does the question require that you reserve banwidth for specific
hosts on your network?
YES RSVP NO Go to Step 8
8 Does the question require that you allocate bandwidth based upon a
class of traffic?
YES Go to Step 9 NO Go to Step 10

9 Does the question want you to adapt to variations in packet length?

YES CBWFQ NO CQ
10 Does the question allow you to potentially drop traffic in favor of
a specific traffic type?

YES PQ NO Go to Step 11
11 Does the question ask you to avoid congestion before it occurs?

YES WRED NO WFQ

Thanks in advance for ur time and replies.
Annu.
