As I remember, there are some PIX (including 525, 515) have hardware
problem - you need to check Cisco website to find whether your serial number
is part of it. And also there are some bugs with software 5.2 version, if
you could, I suggest you upgrade to at least 6.2.
We had similar problem and fixed changing hardware and software upgrading
:-(.

Subject: pix problem urgent!
> The pix is 525,ios is 5.2(3),it's working fine for almost 2 years, but
recently there is a strange problem: every morning I find I cannot ping some
PCs and Routers from PIX,that is to say those ip and mac isn't in PIX
ARP,and PIX cannot learn them dynamically, but if I ping pix from those pc
and router, then the pix can learn the mac add now, my network include 150
pcs and some routers and some switches, the problem is working on some of
them.
