Have you set up a mapping agent? Send the sh run from R5, or at least from
R5 S0.5.

Subject: Sparse-mode problems

All,

I configured multicast sparse-mode with R5 loopback as
RP.Also attached igmp-group to e0 of R5, but what is
happening is that I can't ping from R9 or even R7 or
R8.I can see the PIM neighbors correctly.
I am using a multipoint interface on R5 and rest of
the Routers are using Physical Interfaces as shown
below.

             R(9)
            |
            |
       / R7(S0)
      /
R5(S0.5)
| \
| \R8(S0)
|
R6

Do I need to do anything else when running Multicast
in NBMA mode. I read about using PIM NBMA mode, but
even that didn't help.

Any suggestions.

Thanks,

S K
