We also use F5 BIGIP for load balancing. We've had minimal problems with
them. The only problem we had was tweaking some alarm parameters but their
support helped us out (false/positives).

6500 (native OS) and 7200 can do server load balancing.
One of the major players in slb using CLI very similar to Cisco CLI is
pretty good. (I forgot the name, sorry)
Alteon sucks, its documentation is abslutely crap. I'm going to kick it out
of our production very soon.
