xyplex assistance

Hi,
 
I have a Xyplex Maxserver but at present can only telnet devices from the window when I console the Xyplex. Has anyone got any hints on setting this up correctly please? From my understanding once the beast is set up correctly I should be able to get to the console of the router of interest by telnet to the ip of the xyplex + the port number. In this situation I should be able to have separate telnet windows for each router.
Still trying to get this working as I send this message.
