        I haven't read this RFC (I try to stay away from those things),
but in Cisco's implementation the NSSA ABR will not automatically
originate a default. You can make it originate one with the syntax:

area 1 nssa default-information-originate

        If you use the syntax: 'area 1 nssa no-summary' you are
configuring a not-so-totally-stubby area. A NSSA is a stub area that
you can redistribute into, while a NSTSA is a totally stubby area that
you can redistribute into. Just like the totally stubby area, routers
in the NSTSA see only intra-area and a default route originated from the
ABR, however you can redistribute into this area.
