You asked:
What I want to know is.what is the difference b/w having a 355-24-SMI
>(with EMI image) as opposed to have a 3550-24-EMI (with EMI image).

They are the same.. :) SMI is the when they bought it and it came with SMI
image. The EMI is the enhanced software that they upgraded to. You can do
the same, buy the SMI at a cheaper price and upgrade to EMI later. Either
way whether it's an SMI or EMI and the price is right and it's working you
should acquire it. If you got an SMI though you'll need a CCO login to get
the EMI image.
