Hi,
What I don't understand is the middle burst-normal value. The document said it
should be (bps/8)*1.5
But how is this value related to bps. Is is like the BC in frame relay that
indicate the burst in each TC?
Is the burst-max only transmitted in the first TC, if any?
Please help to explain. Thank you.

All,
What does the Maximum Burst Bytes represent in the
rate-limitting statement of CAR? Highlighted with *
rate-limit output access-group 101 5000000 125000
*125000* conform-action transmit exceed-action drop
Quote CCO -
"The CAR policy limits the traffic rate available to
the customer and delivered to the network to the
agreed upon rate limit, plus the ability to
temporarily burst over the limit."
What I think is that the MBB is the value that the
exceed-action is based on (if you have an
exceed-action statement).
For example - my stament above says everything that is
5mbps or below transmit, but if we hit 6mbps to drop
the traffic.
Do you guys agree?

Sage
