I would suggest limiting the Voice & Data vlans as the only ones to traverse
the trunk.

It comes to design. If you had a closet switch that only needed Vlans
50-100, would you allow all over vlans (including unused ones by that
closet) to traverse that link. I personally like to be in control as to
what vlans are propagated where (have dealt with many a broadcast storm)

Subject: voice ports

Greetings:

On the 3550 when configuring a voice vlan, my understanding is
you need to make the interface a trunk port with the native vlan belonging
to that of the PC if one is connected behind the phone. My question do you
allow all vlans to traverse the trunk or just limit the ones that belong to
the PC and the Voice vlan?
