Thanks everyone,
I just found out I have to retake the written. The rule is you have 12
months to take the lab after you failed once. If not you have to retake
the written. You have 18 months to take the lab once after you've passed
the written. Can anyone recommend study materials for the new written
???

According to the Cisco web site, the new policy, as I understand it, is
this: You have 18 months from when you pass the written to attempt the
ccie
lab. If you don't take the lab within that period, you have to retake
and
pass the written exam. If you do take the lab within that initial 18
month
period, your written pass status remains valid for another 12 months
from
the date of your lab attempt.
I believe that as long as one attempts the lab at least once a year,
your
written pass status remains valid indefinately, however, at this point
in
time, given my expectation to take and pass the lab within the next
month or
so, I hope never to need to go back and verify this understanding.
