Hi,
Here is a reference that I am basing my opinion on (watch the wrap of
course)

_configuration_guide_chapter09186a008007e709.html
I would say that they are different. By defining the allowed vlans on a
trunk you are specifying which vlans can traverse the trunk or be part of
the trunk. Pruning of vlans on a trunk doesn't exclude the vlans from the
trunk but rather reduces flooded traffic on the trunk(s). The VTP protocol
in conjunction with pruning will limit the flooded traffic to the trunk
links that the traffic needs to use - thus conserving bandwidth.
Just my .02

Subject: What's the difference between "Defining the Allowed VLANs on a
Trunk" and "Changing the Pruning-Eligible List"?
Hi,
I think they do the same thing, is it right?
Thanks for help.
