Thomas, unfortunately this is not politics, where the majority wins.

IOS changes over time, and sometimes has more then one way to do something,
so and it is possible that both are true. So I nominate you to create your
own scenario and test both? If you do let us know what you find out, and
what version IOS you are using.

i have docs from cisco, and other ccie study sites related to dlsw and the
linger option.

i do NOT know which is accurate:

1. linger 0 = all existing sessions on the backup router IMMEDIATELY drop
when primary recovers.

                                                        or

2. do NOT specify ANY linger option = all existing sessions on the backup
router IMMEDIATELY drop when primary recovers.
