AFAIK, the 1912 and 1924 can't do Dot1q.... Only ISL (and we're running
Enterprise on these 1900s).... We have run ISL trunks between our
Cat5500s and 1900s, so I know that works. I say this because we
recently started putting 2950s in each of our closets to provide a Gig
uplink to the core (6509s running Native IOS), and found out the hard
way that the 2950 ONLY supports Dot1Q and the 1924 ONLY supports ISL, so
we can't trunk between the 2950s and 1900s.... ARRRRGHGHHHH!!!
HTH,
Mike W.

Subject: ISL or 8021Q on Cat1924
OK. Can this be done on a Catalyst 1924?
I have a 3640 router. It will ISL or 802.1q trunk without problems to a
Cat2924xl or a Cat3524xl no problem.
Has anyone tried this same trunking to a Catalyst 1924 and if so, what
did you do to get it to work?
