Subject: 2nd RTP attempt
Everyone,
I wanted to give everyone a heads up. I failed my second attempt at RTP
last
week.
I must admit that I am a little shocked at my score this time. It seems
to me
that I should have gotten a higher score. I went into the test very
optimistic since I had done the necessary prep work. I practiced on a
variety
of different labs (ipexpert, ccbootcamp, shrike, and routopia). I got to
point that I would add extra scenarios to predict specific technologies
that
would show up on the lab.
When I received the actual test I felt totally optimistic because there
were
things on there that I knew I practiced. I breezed through those topics
effortlessly. I got tripped up on a technology that I have about 11
years
real world experience and I know with my eyes closed. I did not use the
doc
CD since I knew the answers from my lab practice. I spent entirely too
much
time on it and hence it took away from going over the exam. What
troubles me
is that my score did not reflect those topics I know I aced.
Here is what I learned from this attempt. This test is about knowing the
technology, but it is also about the mental indurance necessary to pass.
I
believed that I was a little burnt out from all the hours I spent
studying as
well as doing my job.
My next attempt will be a successful one.
Regards
Bryan
