Check out Homestead Inn and Suites on NC State route 54 (I think) and I-40. Decent, small but comfortable), cheap, and convenient to the lab When I stayed at the Radisson (first try), which is closer, I had to go over to the retail district where the Homestead Inn is located to get breakfast, anyway. I stayed there the night before I passed the lab, so I have a fond memory of it. Watch the locations, as they have more than one in the area.
