My understanding is :
area x rang can only summary this area's internal route (o) , this command will not summary E1/E2.
summary address can only summary ASBR's E1/E2 route and it has to be done on the same router which is doing redistribution .
no-advertise can used to suppress certain LSA .
our problem is the same : when ABR translate 7-->5 and when it doesn't .

I had just the opposite problem in my last round of preperation. I could not
get my type 7's to translate to type 5's. I never did figure it out.
