Of course there is. Not all countries have easy access to Bootcamp style
training facilities and there are plenty of people who pass this exam
without using the services of one. With regards to strategy, there are
several posts in the archives on this, however the main aspect is to be
honest with yourself about what you know.
Take a large sheet of paper and write down all the major tech headings from
the Cisco Configuration Guides for 12.1. Under these group them by
subcategory and then add all the appropriate commands and notes under these
from the Command Reference.
IP Configuration Guide
IP Routing Protocols
Configuring OSPF
Commands
Router ospf x (this enables ospf on the
router)
Network x.x.x.x y.y.y.y area z (add ints to
ospf)
Neighbor
OK - you get the idea.
Now when you can honestly configure all these topics by rote and UNDERSTAND
most if not all the command options, you can then move on to the next topic.
Another thing I see a lot of lately is the fact that because certain topics
have been removed from the Lab, people don't bother studying them. For
example, no one (and this is a generalisation) looks at ISIS routing for
CLNS. Yet there are several aspects of this that allow you to better
understand integrated ISIS for IP routing. I think this is a major issue
with Study methods and I would strongly recommend actually understanding the
mechanics of each tech/protocol rather than just knowing how to configure it
to do X.
Just some ideas.
