I usually place my backup commands on the subinterface as it may go up/down
while the main interface is still up/up and has other PVC's on other
sub-ints that are functioning normal.

Best bet would be to try it out.

Subject: FR Backup commands

I working throught the ISDN labs in Solie's book and noticed that all his
frame-relay backup commands are under the main interface even when he is
using
subinterfaces that are point-to-point. I looked on the doc cd to see if this
where they go, and it did not say anything about placement.. The router does
list the command under the subif, so it must be ok to use them there.. Can
anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks,
Rick
