Larry
I'm not agree, you can configure as dlci as you want. Of course if you
frame-relay switch only has one, you will get only this as active, the other
will be in deleted status.
In the other hand, if your frame-relay switch has more pvc's than your
router, all pvc's not configured will be assigned to the interface ( not
subinterface )
The error message Jason is seeing is because the pvc's he is trying to
configure is already configured in other subinterface, you don't need
deleted the old subinterface, only remove frame-relay interface-dlci
command.
Look this example:
C3620-A(config)#int s0/0.4 po
C3620-A(config-subif)#frame-relay interface-dlci 44
C3620-A(config-fr-dlci)#int s0/0.5 po
C3620-A(config-subif)#frame-relay interface-dlci 55
C3620-A(config-fr-dlci)#int s0/0.4 po
C3620-A(config-subif)#no frame-relay interface-dlci 44
C3620-A(config-subif)#int s0/0.6 po
C3620-A(config-subif)#frame-relay interface-dlci 44
Of course if I try to use a dlci already used, I get the error message:
C3620-A(config-fr-dlci)#int s0/0.4 po
C3620-A(config-subif)#frame-relay interface-dlci 44
%PVC already assigned to sub-interface Serial0/0.6

Rafa

Asunto: RE: %PVC already assigned to sub-interface
sounds like you have only one dlci/pvc available to the
interface. If so the first sub-intf will get it..
