Network statement is a good way.
Two other common ways:

1-redistritbute connected under BGP (you might need to filter out connected
nets you don't want here)
2-add the wan net into your IGP [running the corresponding interface as
passive to avoid an igp adjacency with your EBGP peer].

Just depends on your topology/requirements/preferences
