DLSw+ network meltdown condition

Is anyone familiar with DLSw+ network meltdown and how it occurs / how
to prevent it? I am mostly curious about what the most common cause
is. I ask because on a recent practice lab, the DLSw+ process was
killing the router resources on more than one router, and causing all
sorts of crashes. I couldn't pinpoint the problem.. maybe a loop?
