Virtual template interface as its name suggests is only a template for
clonong Virtual-Access interfaces. It never participates in packet
forwarding. So down/down is its normal state.

Hi Group:

I followed PPP over frame configuration, but
Virtual-Template interface stays in down/down even
though Virtual-Access interface shows up/up;
Both serial1 and serial1.1 point-to-point sub
interface also shows up/up.
Eventhough I can ping the adjacent serial
sub-interface IP, no routing protocol is propergated.
Any ideas as to bringing the Virtual-Template
interface to up/up? Thanks.
