Colin,
You better get your CCIE to increase your chances out
there. The job market will get better (in my opinion).
Right now it does not look promising (in most cities).
Usually I get 10 calls for the same position from
different recruiters. You get an interview with a
recruiter and then if they like you they arrange a
phone interview with the company.....the same is done
for many others for the same position. Do not be
surprised if the recruiter never calls you back to
tell you if you are approved or not (actually they
will call you if you are approved). Some are nice but
most will step over you and look for the next match.
Unfortunately that is the way to survive and do not
blame them. The CCIE will definitely help.
