You can use an AUX port as a backup interface with a modem attached to it
from what I understand. I haven't yet done it but plan to test it in the

You can also get the ip address from the remote ISP and your async or dialer
interface can assign it the interface dynamically.
int async1 or int dialer1
ip address negotiated (obtain an IP address from ISP)
