Rick,
I agree with Chuck, NetMasterClass is great! I'm in the second week
right now. You need to think you're ready for the exam before taking the
class; better yet, fail the exam once or twice and really really think
you are ready ... then take the Caslow class.
It is intense ... 8am-10pm or longer. Everyone gets their own pod. Your
pod consists of two 3640s, two 3550, a 2621, and several 2500s. It
includes ATM discovery and SVCs, voice, all flavors of multicast, and
heavy into qos. They continually work on predicting what will be
important in a few months and adding those topics to the class.
You can (and should) learn all the topics by reading the books and trying
things on your home-lab, but there is nothing like being drilled in a
difficult scenario, then having an expert discuss it in detail
afterwords. The class also helps you interpret what vague requirements
are really asking for; this is a big time saver!
NetMasterClass has two one-week sessions: NMC1 builds one scenario
topic-by-topic over four days, then has an all-day scenario on Friday.
NMC2 consists of a full scenario every day, followed by a discussion the
next morning. NMC2 scenarios are much harder than NMC1 scenarios, but
you needed the detailed discussions in NMC1 to prepare for NMC2.
I'd definitely recommend both if you can afford them. If you think
you're really really strong, then just go to NMC2.
HTH, Kym
