Scott is right here. You need to read the instructions in the beginning of
the lab very carefully. Those instructions state what is allowed and
disallowed. However, if something is not disallowed (static routes, default
routes, etc.) it could very well be the solution to a problem. Some versions
of the lab disallow static routes and default routes explicitly, others do
not.

Having that said, if you run into something where you think the solution is
a static or default route and the instructions do not disallow them, I would
double check with the proctor just to make sure. :-) You don't want to blow
your config because you broke the rules.
