Wait for the 802.11g if all you want is 54mhz. The 802.11g will support
54mbs and be backward compatible with 802.11b. Since the 802.11b and g are
in the same spectrum 2.4-2.485mhz the radios will not be that expensive.
However, if your needs require you to talk to a UNII 5ghz radio then the
combo card is the way to go. But you still may want to wait until after
January if you can, for I believe that the 802.11g announcements will come
and the prices may go down on anything with 802.11a.

Oronico or Proxim now, has an excellet combo card.

Not yet. They are soon going to release a combo card.

Does anyone know if the new Cisco Wireless card
#AIR-CB20A 802.11a is also 802.11b compliant ?

Thanks,

Armand
