I've always leveraged the IP filtering capabilities in the protocol analyzer
software (Sniffer, Ethereal, etc.) I've not seen it done on other Cisco
Multilayer Switches and from glancing at the 3550 doc it doesn't look like
it can be done. Has anyone configured or seen this? While I'm not sure of
your configuration, you could filter a specific VLAN to help reduce the
number of PDUs captured.

Is it possible to configure Layer 3 ACL on a port when this port is
configured as monitoring port.
I would like, for example, to filter all IP traffic in odrer to receive
it on the monitoring port.

I WANT to apply the IP filter on the monitoring port NOT on the
monitored port.
