RE: Lightstream LS100 funnies

My LS100 did the same thing...it does not seem to be the same as a
standard Cisco port. To get it to work, I had 6 inches of adapters
hanging off of it, the most notable a null modem adapter in the center.
You could easily do it with less, but that's all I had scrounging around
the lab. Hope this helps.

Regards,
Frank

The console port settings are normal. No need to try different
settings. I take it you have tried different db9 connectors? Are you
sure your adaptor for the ls100 is wired correctly? Can the person you
bought it from, send you the adaptor he used on the ls100? Your
terminal session works fine with other devices? You say you tried both
console ports, where is the second? I only see one console port and one
15 pin Ethernet port.

If all that checks ok, I would say you have a bad ls100.

As subject:

Recently picked up a LS100 with OC3 and T3 ATM mods. The unit boots fine
and
displays to terminal across standard Cisco cable with cisco DB9
connectors
(male on LS100, female on PC). However, when I press any key nothing
happens.
I've tried both console ports on the LS100.

The terminal settings are 9600 8N1 and I've tried flow control on/off,
hardware none etc.. all to no avail. This kid of makes me think its
either:
- Wrong cable?? missing say a transmit?
- Faulty unit?

Any thoughts

Gareth
