I've checked with Cisco and was told you can get Smartnet on NFR
products.
I don't think there are any promotions currently running. The last one
on the 3550 was about two months ago. The cheapest is still
lanstreet.com, almost $1900 for a 3550-24-SMI shipped. That's cheaper
than what's on eBay.
Just a heads-up for those waiting for the price to drop...Cisco just
increased their price on refurbished 3550-24-SMI from $1600 to $2200.
That's when I grabbed two from Lanstreet.com before they follow the
lead.

Don't forget if you're a Cisco partner, you can get an NFR (not for
resale)
one for something like 75% off. I think you put a -nfr at the end of
the
part number, but I'm not positive. Check with your account rep. But
keep
in mind that it can't be legally resold. I don't think you can get a
Smartnet for it either.
