Hi,
I agree with Derek. I don't think there's any indication from this
simple question that he wanted people to break the NDA. Folks, this NDA
business is becoming sort of an URBAN LEGEND. I too had questions about
the DEPTH of IPsec, dial, voice, etc, those technologies that are tested
in the other CCIE tracks as well. But upon further reflection, I think
the FAQ on www.cisco.com/go/ccie clearly gives us a strong hint that the
R&S track is heavily on ROUTING and SWITCHING.
Yes there will be voice, but it won't be like the C&S. Yes there will be
IPsec/VPN, but it won't be like the Security track. Yes there will be
ISDN but it won't be like the Dial track.
The FAQ even goes on to say that voice will obviously NOT carry the same
weight as OSPF and BGP! Which also implies these two will carry the most
weight in the ROUTING requirements, more so than RIP or EIGRP.
As for the SWITCHING requirements, it's fair to say know the
Configuration Guide and Command Reference for the 3550 with EMI.
I think future messages can be prevented from the "you are breaking the
NDA" response if it starts out by saying - "For NON-lab experienced
ONLY".

Hello again

In the matter of IPSec on the lab, I was only asking a general question
could it be or not be. I have read a of mails in this list and almost
all of
them are interesting and one can learn a lot, but there is also a few
going
around that are completely of the wall. This idea of breaking the NDA by
asking a simple question is silly. I was not asking how much of it, what
do
you configure and on and on and on and on. My question was answered when
Harold Logan said that if it can be configured in the IOS then it could
be.
THAT'S ALL I WAS ASKING.

Anyway. Only 2 Weeks left before first attempt. :-)

cheers
Derek
