Sure thought PTP and broadcast was 10/40, PTM and non_broadcast is 30/120.

No you are not.

You are allowed to create a subinterface on R3. So create a point-to-point
sub interface. This command would change the hello interval to match the one

on the multipoint interface on the other end.

In essence, you are not to change the timers manually.

The theory is, the default hello timer values of the point-to-point and
point-to-multipoint are the same, ie.,30 Sec.
