Steve,

Perhaps you should get the back-to-back aux connection working before trying
to add DDR. Here is a working config someone posted to Groupstudy a while
back ... like yours but has speed on both aux ports:

hostname R1
!
interface Async10
ip address 129.1.1.4 255.255.255.248
encapsulation ppp
async default routing
async dynamic routing
async mode dedicated
no shutdown
!
line aux 0
modem InOut
transport input all
speed 38400
flowcontrol hardware

--------------------------
hostname R2
!
interface Async10
ip address 129.1.1.5 255.255.255.248
encapsulation ppp
async default routing
async dynamic routing
async mode dedicated
no shutdown
!
line aux 0
modem InOut
transport input all
speed 38400
flowcontrol hardware

Then on to DDR ... Networkers 2002 recommended to always add CHAP even when
not required; it will help the router resolve the mapping; side benefit, you
can "debug ppp auth" to see how it is progressing.
