Hi,
This answer is not completely true. MPLS-VPN doesn't care of what the
IGP is. IGP may be any distance vector protocol or any link state
protocol while using MPLS-VPN only. MPLS Traffic Engineering (TE) but
requires OSPF or ISIS ( they support some additional LSA & LSPs) . So if
you want to use TE you should implement OSPF or ISIS on the MPLS part of
your network. If you don't want to implement TE , any IGP may be used on
your MPLS part. Moreover you can use static routing , RIP , OSPF, BGP
and EIGRP ( newly) between PE-CE. It is different from IGP that is used
on the SP MPLS side.

On 10000,12000,7500,7200 platforms , IOS versions 12.0(23)S ,12.0(22)S2
,12.0(22)S1 ,12.0(22)S seems to support EIGRP between PE-CE.
