It's a bug,
pls update your IOS to the most current Version, it would solve the problem. (can't remember what it

Has anyone had problems when connecting the 3550 to another switch. such as
a 5000 or 1900, and configuring the 3550 as the root switch? When I do this
the spantree loop protection seems to fail.
If I take a 3550 and 1900 with default configs and connect them together via
2 ports, the 1900 becomes the root and one port on the 3550 goes in to
blocking mode. If I change the root to the 3550 by reconfiguring either
switch, both ports go in to forwarding and stay there. I have also tried
this with a 3550 and 5000 with the same results.
The 3550 is running 121-EA9c. Any thoughts?
Thanks
