Peng,

    Some 2500 series routers actually have 2 mb soldered on the board. When
you added the 16 mb simm to your 2501, you gave it a total of 18 mb.
Somewhere on CCO it tells which 2500s have 2 mb included. Doesn't seem to
be model dependant. Probably depends more on what year it was built. The
revision number has something to do with it, I think.
