RE: how to config 1600 series router for dialup modem

Do you want to 'route' through the console port or just access the
console remotely to do configurations? If you want to do the latter,
the configuration is in the modem. Set it for auto-answer, local echo,
etc.

To route over the console, I'm sure you can configure a virtual async
interface and chat scripts for the modem, but I never did it myself, so
I don't have any details.

My 1600 series router only has console and ethernet ports. Does anyone
know how to configure the console port for dialup modem, so I can dial
in remotely? Thanks.
