There are a few ways to approach this, depending on your idea of "cheap":

1. Use a 3725 with a 36 port Switch module and a WIC-1ADSL.
2. Use a 3550-24-EMI and a 1721-ADSL.
3. Use a 3550-24-EMI and a 2621XM with WIC-1ADSL.

Solution 1. uses a fairly new product, will be supported for quite some time
yet, and is nice and compact. On the other hand, it's a fairly new product,
and provides a single point of failure. It's also the most expensive of the
three solutions. Because this product is new, I cannot rate the difficulty
of management. Expect this one to cost about $15K list

Solution 2. uses a 3550-24 with EMI code to do Layer 3 switching between
vlans with ACL's to prevent traffic from crossing vlans at the switch/L3
engine. The connection to the 1721 is a seperate vlan. The 1721 merely
provides ADSL connectivity and primative firewalling capability with the ip
or ip plus feature set through the use of ACLs. Difficulty of mangement is
expected to be high with this solution. Expected cost around $8K list.

Solution 3. uses a 3550-24 to do L2 switching and vlan trunking to one of
the FE ports on the 2621XM. The 2621XM handles all L3 functions including L3
ACLs and ADSL connectivity. Difficulty of management is expected to be
moderate. Expect this one to be around $15-16K list.

Subject: Multiple Compnay Connections to Internet Via ADSL

Hi All

Can you please help on this. What is a cheap way of serving around 5 (or may
be 6) compnaies in the same building with say 20 PCs so that they can
connect to Internet with one ADSL line? They must not see each other as they
are seperate companies.

What I'm thinking:
1) 2621 with 4E NM card. One interafce to ADSL router with legal address
(i.e. External LAN). Others interafces to each compnay hub with Private IP
addressess (i.e. internal LANs). Most private IPs to be NATed with overload
on the exteranl router IP address. Some server IPs to be NATed usind one to
one NAT.
2) Using may 2621. One interafce to ADSL router with legal address (i.e.
External LAN). Other internal interafce to be trunked to a Catalyst.
Internal FE to be sliced so that there are as many subinterfaces as the
companies. Cat to have as many VLANs as companies.

Does this sound ok? Aany better/cheaper way?
