XP does support NetBEUI (you just need to find it on your XP CD). NetBIOS
on NetBEUI is a great way to test your Bridging and DLSW peers. It is also
a great way to test NetBIOS filtering.
I made the assumption that Nguyen wanted to test either bridging or NetBIOS
filters.

I think you will find that XP doesn't support NetBEUI, however does support
NETBIOS. It stills needs to support NETBIOS for backwards compatibility in a
M$ world. NETBIOS is the way that XP will resolve names of other machines on
its network when you have downlevel legacy clients like Windows 95/98/NT4.
If you set up another machine running Windows 95 or the like in the same
work group or domain as your XP machine then your XP will use NETBIOS to try
to discover the other device.
Here is a URL that will highlight how to enable NETBIOS on your Laptop.

Hello group,
I like to ask if any one has a free NETBIOS simulator software ( on MS
Windows), pls. kindly send me or advise me the link.
The reason is I use WindowsXP on my Labtop, which does not support
NETBIOS.
Thanks.
