I used to work for a large telco that 1000's of cat2924xls deployed. from
the serial numbers, you can tell whether it's AC or PC powered etc.

Unfortunately you can't find out the serial number once a router is in the
field (afaik) from any show command. I had a case once on the same problem
and I had to tell the customer that it wasn't possible :(
