authentication has to be configured in both the routers , otherwise ppp
will fail
u have to use callin option
assume you are connecting to isp , isp wants to challange you , but your
router dont want to challenge isp .
so you configure ppp authentication chap callin in your router (isp has
just configured ppp authentication chap) , then your router will not
challenge calling in router (which is ISP) but when your router connects
to ISP , isp will challenge you .
hope i am correct , may be experts can give u good example
search the achieve , long time back i saw this in the group

        Subject: ISDN ISSUES

Hello guys,
i am taking my lab on friday. I have a question with ISDN. I really would
like to know when
they say only r1 may send a challenge and R2 do not have to challange r1.
Is that mean I have to configure authentication chap in only one router
Regards
Mike
