I would suggest that you ask the proctor which value they require. I do not think they would fail you for putting in 127 rather than 128. This question would be aimed at catching people who might set it to 50.

I have found the proctor quite helpful in this regard.

For more sophisticated calculations use formula:

N = 256*x /100, where x= bandwidth in %.

256 instead 255 as 100% value makes standard divisions easier.
