Arin is the right place. If you have a unix machine, the command is:
whois -h whois.arin.net the_AS#_or_IP_Address
For example, you want to lookup the AS#1, you use
whois -h whois.arin.net 1 and you will get:
OrgName: Genuity
OrgID: GNTY
ASNumber: 1
ASName: GNTY-1
ASHandle: AS1

If you use company name instead of AS#/IP_address, you also can get lot
