Gang,

I was mistaken when I said that if you shut vlan 1 down, how does vtp
advertisements get sent to other switch. What I forgot is that the native vlan
on the 3550 is for
Layer 3 purpose (management) and not Layer 2. So it does not matter, if you
shut this down and create a new native vlan. Your vlan 1 will still be sent
across the Trunk and vtp advertisments will be carried with it.

My bad for disagreeing on this initially.

BTW: I have recieved quite a bit of emails regarding changing my email
(ccienxtyear), I am already a CCIE, so will change this soon.
