Would someone help me to clear up my understanding of Dial Back-up please!
We all know a backup interface can be configured to be activated when:
1. The primary line goes down or
2. The load on the primary link reach a certain threshold (define by "backup
load" command).
My question comes with the load threshold. When the router find out that the
primary interface load is over the threshold, it will bring up the backup link
using backup interface, the link is there now, but how the router make use of
this backup link? Float static route or a dynamic routing protocol? At this
time, the primary link is still up, the router will do load sharing between
the primary and backup link? What's the difference in routing table before and
after backup link comes up?
Thank you!
E.D.
